& Concert Etiquette

Things To Consider Before You
Attend A Performance

Important Concert Etiquette Reminders

  1. No food or beverages are permitted

  2. Clapping is permitted after musical numbers, but if there is a multi-movement work, please wait until the work is performed in its entirety.

  3. Do not talk or whisper during the music and avoid unnecessary moving around since these are a distraction for both performers and those sitting around you. All performances are professionally recorded for radio, PR, and our website, so noises are difficult to remove from the recording.

  4. Please attempt to control coughing and please have lozenges on hand and unwrapped.

  5. Silence your phones and disconnect from electronic devices before the performance begins. (Though, feel free to take selfies and “check-in” on social media before and/or after the concert.)

  6. Audio and video recordings are strictly prohibited during the entire performance. Also, please do not take pictures during musical numbers.

  7. Stay seated when music is being performed unless it is an emergency. If you must leave early, please wait until the music selection has ended.

  8. Children 8 and older, who can sit quietly and appreciate the performance, are welcome to attend. It is important that all who attend the concert can appreciate the music without distractions.
